Sawyers Place guest designer

I was wrapped when i was asked to be a guest designer for sawyers place  !!I received 3 beautiful wahi tapes

The first being this steel-blue-cogs-gears-washi-tape

I have used it here in my layout called attitude !!

Using this washi is quick and simple way to really give the wow factor to this layout.

The second washi tape is this steel-blue-robots

I have use rows of this in the back ground instead of using a back ground paper, cutting different little squares into the ends giving that compute/robot feel

Last but not least this cute little owl washi tape

I have just used small little strips to give this little girl layout the finishing touches.

I have really enjoyed using this amazing washi tape from sawyers place .Why not try some out for yourself I'm sure there is some that would tickle your fancy over at their site.

ATC swap

This month i had to do an ATC swap with the girls from scrap it flaunt it !!
I had all the girls using the soot technique. So here is mine...in my kind of style :)

I hope the girls like them and i hope they had fun making me some in return.

3 layouts

Well here we are again, Its been a while since i have "done" some layouts for myself !
Yesterday i got together with a few crafty friends and the challenge was to do a layout using only stuff we had at home " NO BUYING"....So i did three based on a picture that our beautiful friend Robin found.

First is my daughter......

Peacock feathers I won from Dusty Attic 

This brick wall stencil was used in all 3 layouts

My eldest son ! A mad skate boarder !!

Washi tape some old brads and barb wire from Twiddlybitz

And this great brick wall stencil again.

And my youngest son !! Had to have a new scooter like all the kids at the skate park !!

Some arrow brads i have had for a long time !! A little washi tape and some old and very small playing cards !

More Sprctrum Noir

Yesterday i posted a little how too on here , So today here is another!

COLOURING A FLOWER
so lets get started


Step one, Using the darkest of the three colours you will be using,Colour the high lights of your flower,I like using little stitch like strokes but you can use dabbing or circular motions.

Then taking your second colour (or middle colour),Colour next to and a little over but not all the way over step one.You can now see the two colours starting to blend together.On this step make sure you use a flicking up ward motion in the center of the flower to it a really nice looking center.

Using the third colour or the lightest colour,Colour the remainder of the flower remembering to colour a little over the second colour but not all the way over.You now can see all three colours blending together.

Now using the second(middle) and the third ( lightest)start blending the colours together until you are happy with the out come.EG the second colour(middle) blends into the darkest colour and the third( lightest) blends into the second colour. 

Once you are happy with the blending you then can take the darkest (first) colour marker and add in the high lights.

Spectrum Noir colouring.

Well how fast does time go by ? Just about August !!!
I have been teaching colouring with Spectrum noir pens and i must say some of the girls have been doing a great job !! And a few are still struggling through, But that's fine great colouring takes time :)

So here I'm going to post a step by step on how to colour this cute girls dress....
So here goes

First stamp your image using Memento ink.

Taking your darkest colour first( i like working dark to light but you and work light to dark)

Do little *stitch*like strokes over the folds in her dress,Its better if the lines are all different lengths as this gives it the "real" look.

Taking the next shade down colour next to and a little over ( but not all over) step one.You can now see the darker of the two colours are now starting to blend.

Now taking the lightest of the three colours you are working with

and colour the remaining of her dress all so colouring a little over the second( middle) colour but not all the way over.Now you can see the three colours are starting to blend.

Now using the second and third colours slowly blend into the darker colours using a circular motion or a dabbing motion.EG the second colour needs to be worked into the first (darker) colour and the third colour needs to be worked into the second colour.

Once you are happy with the blending you then can use your darkest(first) colour to re touch the high lights.

Now your cute little girls is all ready for a card :)

Excited !!!! much.......

I opened my emails today, As i have been waiting for a response form Crafters companion about accreditation for the Spectruim Noir markers. Now i have been waiting awhile.....worried.....thinking...Oh my !! Today was the day i heard back ! My eyes lit up and i have passed :) I am now a Spectrum Noir Accredited Colourist !! yay....I will show you some of the colouring i had to do :)  

First time at images like these, As most of you know these images are SO SO not me :) But I'm happy with the way they have turned out !!
